This beautiful road trip started in LA. Our first stop: Palm Springs, a place where people go to get away from the busy cities around. It was boiling hot, even at night. Surrounded by water sprays and palm trees, we took a night swim at our hotel.
The next day we drove onto the amazing Joshua Tree national park, passing by loads and loads of rocks and thousands of Yucca trees. Then we drove on and stayed in Pioneer town, a place in the middle of nowhere build in the 40’s and 50’s especially for cowboy movies. After one night in this unreal town, we drove further along the Salton sea and visited a deserted ghost town that was once a vivid holiday place called Bombay Beach. Last but not least we drove to the so-called Salvation Mountain, an artwork created by Leonard Knight covering a hill in the Colorado Desert, near Slab City and several miles from the Salton Sea. It is his tribute to God and his gift to the world with it’s simple message „God is Love“. Unfortunately Leonard died 3 years ago, but we were lucky enough to meet Ron, the current caretaker of Salvation Mountain. He said: "This place isn't about religion. It's about love. And all love is awesome." And I couldn't agree more.
"you will find your way.
