LONDON, WAITING FOR AN ARTIFICAL SUN
Antonio Privitera is a visual artist, whose photographic work spans across documentary, street photography, conceptual and fine art. Always searching for a strong sense of duality: the magic and the real, the past and future, the memory and time, the life and death his works show magical moments with an ironic touch.
Antonio Privitera was born in Siracusa, Italy, in 1984. He graduated in cinema and philosophy with BFA from the University of Trieste in 2009 and obtained his master’s degree in documentary and photography at IED of Venice. Working as an independent film director and scriptwriter he traveled around Italy and Europe to produce documentary. Currently he lives and works in Rome as a freelance artist, photographer and creative director.
London, waiting for an artificial sun, 2015. After moving to the British capital, Anton Privitera started to capture its urban jungle and multi-culture layers. Inspired by the idea “world a part” he looked closely at the simple, unexpected details, small gestures, unusual details within the fast moving urban crowds.
"You even don’t have time to think and something already happened. What we are going to be? Waiting for another artificial sun."
