Stefan Dotter
Stefan Dotter is a Japan-based artist and photographer whose quiet aesthetic explores themes of presence, fragility, and emotional retreat. Working primarily with medium format film and traditional darkroom techniques, Dotter’s practice bridges commercial and conceptual worlds. In 2019, he co-spearheaded a photography education initiative in Afghanistan with UNHCR, later launching a global campaign that supported the evacuation of his students in 2021. His work has been published in British Journal of Photography, Vogue and Purple, and he has collaborated with CHANEL, HERMÈS, LOEWE and NOWNESS.
